The terms that apply to this website and the client portal

What these terms cover

These terms apply to this website and to the client portal at portal.pizzellocpa.com. They do not replace your engagement letter. If anything here conflicts with a signed engagement letter, the engagement letter governs the work.

This site is information, not advice

Everything published here is general information. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice for your situation, and reading it does not make you a client. Tax outcomes turn on facts, and the facts that matter are usually the ones a general article cannot know. A client relationship begins when we both sign an engagement letter, and not before.

Using the client portal

The portal exists so you can exchange documents with us securely. When you use it:

• Keep your sign-in link and your email account secure. Anyone with access to your email can request a link.
• Tell us promptly if you think someone else has reached your account.
• Upload only what belongs to your engagement, and only files you have the right to share with us.
• Do not attempt to reach another client's information, probe the service for weaknesses, or disrupt it for others.

We may suspend access if the portal is being misused, and we will tell you why.

What you give us has to be accurate

We prepare returns from what you provide. We ask questions when something looks incomplete, and we will not sign a return we believe to be wrong, but we do not audit what you give us. Responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information rests with you.

Availability

We aim to keep the portal available and backed up, and we do not promise it will never be offline. If it is unavailable when you need it, email us and we will find another way to get you what you need.

Our content

The writing, design and materials on this site belong to PizzelloCPA, PLLC. You are welcome to read, print and share links. Please do not republish substantial portions as your own. Documents we prepare for you under an engagement are yours, as set out in that engagement.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another organization, including affiliated companies, we do not control that site and are not responsible for it.

Affiliated companies

bookkeepz, LLC and SmallBizCFO, Inc. are affiliated with PizzelloCPA, PLLC. Bookkeeping and fractional CFO services are provided by those entities, are not attest services, and are not the practice of public accounting. Tax and CPA services are provided by PizzelloCPA, PLLC.

Limits

To the extent the law allows, our liability arising out of this website or the portal is limited to the fees you paid us for the engagement the claim relates to. Liability for professional services is addressed in your engagement letter. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including our professional responsibilities as a licensed CPA firm.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continuing to use the site or the portal after a change means you accept the updated terms.
